Daughter of the MD, I increased up believing in medicine. For many of my existence I’ve had an assumed aura of infallibility around this sort of profession since it symbolized my dad—the one all of the nurses and doctors around saw. A healbot.

Forget about.

I love that Dr. Humphries book doesn’t let you know things to think. She opens the mysterious realm of medicine and let’s you draw conclusions from her story. The brightest truth you’ve is the own story. Humphries transparently uncovers troubling realities, deceitful holes she fell into and ones we keep falling into once we continue in blind trust from the medical/pharmaceutical community.

A relaxed voice, Suzanne Humphries remains compassionate and urgent within the telling. She advocates for rebirth from the system instead of demolition—she is really a catalyst for change working inside the system itself. I respect that she’s not really a critic around the outdoors.

That which was highlighted for me personally?
• Physicians are great willed people being taught to be dispensers of medication, not healers.

• A 500, 000 dollars or even more indebted from schooling, new doctors, by threat of personal bankruptcy, are coerced not to rock the boat on any level—high patient quotas have grown to be the primary pressure of every day combined with the fast prescribing drugs to quell signs and symptoms because the system requires.

• Insurance, threat of suit, and government intervention cause doctors to follow along with protocol whatsoever cost—even if harmful towards the existence and health from the patient. Physicians don’t have any time for you to evaluate alternatives. They’re frustrated from doing this. Precedent rules your day regardless of how damning evidence.

• Doctors who wished to become healers are absolutely disillusioned. Roughly 400 such doctors commit suicide every year. Humphries contends this speaks noisally that most doctors go into the field caring deeply about people and wanting to become a healbot. Indeed. It goes well past their oath to patients to “Do no harm.

• In a 1-size-fits all system we, like Dr. Humphries, remain to teach ourselves, have a stand, and demand solutions.

My father is 95. He shakes his mind and states the golden chronilogical age of medicine was before insurance. Money—it has altered everything. Indeed. Look at this book. It’s an eye-opener.
